by bianca demouraWith Tik Tok blowing up products and single handedly selling out the best at Sephora, here are some underrated products (or stuff you might have forgotten about) that truly will make your face look better than ever. Foundation: Milk Makeup Sunshine Skin TintThe best skin tint hands down, this gives you some coverage without it feeling or looking cakey. This also has a dewy finish that actually ends up making the face look plumper and healthier looking, giving you a glow from within. If you want to look slightly bronze go up a shade, with this being a lighter skin tint the shade up won’t look noticeable. lips: Charlotte Tilbury hyaluronic happikiss lipstick balmWanting the Makeup by Mario plumping glosses? Well the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Balms are her older, more classier sister. With more wearable shades and the ability to sheer these balms out or build them up, these were truly made to please everyone. The brand also has made their iconic pillow talk lipstick into a sheer gloss formula so this is perfect for everyone who isn't a matte lipstick person. Setting Powder: Nars Light Reflecting Setting PowderForget what all the beauty influencers taught you, loose setting powder is not better than pressed. Depending on your skin type or even if you don’t like a super matte face this powder may be perfect for you. It's travel friendly and can be used all over the face with just a big fluffy brush. It also is slightly illuminated, preventing that cakey powder look. mascara: A Review of Rare Beauty's Perfect Strokes Universal Volumizing MascaraIf you hated the formula for the Too Faced mascaras and thought they were too clumpy this is the perfect alternative. Personally my favorite, it lengthens and volumizes but uses a thinner formula that prevents spider lashes. It also comes in a mini at Sephora for people not wanting to commit to a full size just yet. It gives you clean girl vibes and allows lashes to look natural but still thick.

BY QUINN WILSONWith summer right around the corner (thank goodness!), it’s time to start experimenting with different hairstyles to keep you cool all season long: claw clips. They are extremely easy to use, and there are so many different ways to style them. From half-up half-down to pulling back your baby hairs, claw clips have an endless variety. Here are some looks you could style your hair in a claw clip: Here are some quick links to cute claw clips: The claw clip is the hair accessory of the summer, so throw your hair up and enjoy the sun! The fact that summer is almost here is keeping me going these last couple weeks on campus, but until then good luck with finals!
BY GABY SICARDIOne of my guilty pleasures is watching countless episodes of Vogue’s YouTube series called Beauty Secrets with different celebrities and influencers. In one particular episode, singer Madison Beer demonstrates her glowy skin care and daily makeup routine to achieve soap brows and easy blush. Here's the link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9K_CZizKdVs Madison Beer’s episode quickly became viral achieving 5.6 million views. It became so viral that a new Tik Tok challenge was inspired by her episode where individuals tried her everyday makeup routine on themselves with the exact products Beer used. To date, the TikTok hashtag #madisonbeermakeup consists of 18.5 million views. What made Madison Beer’s specific episode go viral? The three key products that caught every viewer’s eye were all from Charlotte Tilbury- the Hollywood Contour Wand, the Beauty Highlighter Wand High Blush, and the Beauty Light Wand. As you can see, either the specific shade that Madison Beer uses is sold out, or the entire product is sold out. I recently took a deep beauty dive on TikTok and took a trip to my local Sephora to see if I can find any dupes for these popular products. DUPE FOR CHARLOTTE TILBURY HOLLYWOOD CONTOUR WAND FENTY BEAUTY by RIHANNA: MATCH STIX MATTE CONTOUR SKINSTICK I personally have this product, and I LOVE IT! It is a perfect blend able contour stick that gives you the dewy contoured look that Madison Beer achieved. Also, it’s $13 cheaper! MILK MAKEUP: MATTE CREAM BRONZER A Sephora worker told me this Milk Makeup cream bronzer is a great dupe for the Charlotte Tilbury contour wand because it has the similar cream base. Plus, it’s $8 cheaper and available now! DUPES FOR THE CHARLOTTE TILBURY BEAUTY HIGHLIGHTER WAND HIGH BLUSH RARE BEAUTY by Selena Gomez: SOFT PINCH LIQUID BLUSH I definitely asked two different Sephora workers this question, and they both strongly recommended this product to me. I tried it a sample on my hand, and this pigmentation and formula in this blush is AMAZING! There is Radiant Finish products and Matte Finish products so there is guaranteed a blush for every consumer! Did I forget to mention that it is $10 cheaper? MILK MAKEUP: LIP + CHEEK I may be biased because I have this product and LOVE IT, but this is an excellent dupe to the Charlotte Tilbury Highlighter Wand High Blush. One small thing this product does not have that the Charlotte Tilbury has is this Milk Beauty product does not have shimmer in it. A Sephora worker recommended to put a little bit of your favorite highlighter on top of it, and it will be identical. DUPES FOR THE CHARLOTTE TILBURY BEAUTY LIGHT WAND CHARLOTTE TILBURY GLOWGASM BEAUTY WAND HIGHLIGHTER Still want to purchase a product from Charlotte Tilbury? This product is perfect for you. It is extremely identical to the Beauty Light Wand! BENEFIT COSMETICS: WATT'S UP! CHAMPAGNE CREAM HIGHLIGHTER This cream highlighter is POPPING! The champagne shade is identical to the Beauty Light Wand. I have this product and it is perfect if you want to achieve the natural, glowing from within beauty look. I hope this helps! We would love to see your beauty looks on Instagram! Just tag us @cma_fsu. See you soon!
3/30/2021 0 Comments Bimini Bon Boulash – Beauty Queenby savi fullwood-calderonI want to talk about Bimini Bon Boulash, a former contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, who was a fan favorite this season and runner up to the crown. I’m a big drag race fan but Bimini truly won me over with their performance in the competition. Bimini has done really well outside of drag race, they’re signing with big time modeling agencies, writing a book, and working with several big-time magazines. Something that they never failed to deliver on the show was looks. Their looks were always the best out of everyone, they were so thought out and very high fashion, editorial. Their makeup is another element to their look that was impressive as well. They always sported thin 90’s brows, which I never thought I’d like to see, but on Bimini, I loved. They always had a nice colored lip and some fun eyeliner/eye makeup look. Now as a fan of Bimini, I’m always on the lookout for all of their photo shoots and what they’re going to do next. Recently, they did a photo shoot with British Vogue on “challenging eternal youth.” The name of this shoot was called “Bimini Becomes Them” and it’s a nod to the film, “Death Becomes Her.” They did 3 different looks for this spread; each one is intended to be Bimini’s spin on Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn’s characters in the film. I’m obsessed with Bimini and can’t wait to see what they continue to do. Look #1 The first look is Bimini’s take on Meryl Streep’s character, they’re wearing pink eyeshadow on the eyes that blends down to mix in with the blush, barely-there eyebrows, and nice full lashes. Bimini is wearing a 70’s style blonde wig to channel Meryl Streep. look #2The second look is Bimini channeling Goldie Hawn’s character in the film. The makeup in this look was similar to the first look, with the eyeshadow meeting the blush, but the eyelashes were fanning out and drawn on in this one. Bimini is also wearing a beautiful red lip in this second look, as they did many times for Drag Race UK. The wig was a brown bowl cut meets mullet vibe which was intended to be similar to Goldie Hawn. look #3For the third look, they have their own twist to it.The third look shows Bimini in a short black wig with her hair curls pinned to her face, and black eyeliner to mimic the hair curls. For their final touches, they’re wearing a nude lip with a faux beauty mark right above the lip. This is my favorite look by far. The black eyeliner all over the face is so creative and it works so well to the point where you don’t know what’s hair and what’s eyeliner. Let me know which look is your favorite :) see you next week!
3/22/2021 0 Comments THE BEST PLANT BASED BEAUTY BRANDSBY ALEX DABAGEWith the official start of spring this past weekend, it’s making us super excited about spending more time outside as it starts to warm up. We’ve been loving the spring flowers that have started to grow too! All this spring is making us think about our fave plant-based beauty brands and we’re going to share them with you! The first vegan beauty brand on our list is Milk Makeup. Milk previously was just a cruelty free makeup brand, but in 2019 they switched to all vegan products. Milk is all about quick, fresh, and light makeup that is super on brand this spring. The best thing about this brand is that they cater to everyone and have everything! Some of their best produts are the cream blush, cream highlighter, and eyeliner. They also have a wide range of foundation shades that are super lightweight ! A few weeks ago, we wrote an article about Skinimalism, and Milk makeup sells all the right tools to achieve that look. The second best plant based makeup brand is Glossier! Now although not all of Glossier’s products are vegan, they are all cruelty free. The company has made major strides to evolve to be more plant based, but the majority of their products are vegan! Some of our faves are the Perfecting Skin tint, the lip gloss, and their Brow Flick. In addition, they have a wide variety of vegan skincare products and body products. Now another amazing plant based brand is Summer Fridays. It was founded by two influencers and recently took off on Instagram. Their most famous product is the Jet Lag mask- a vegan mask that’s packed with vitamins that gives you glowing skin in minutes. Their vitamin C serum also did super well! If you try any of these brands be sure to tag us on instagram and let us know – see you guys next week!
3/16/2021 0 Comments FOOLPROOF EYELINERBy bianca fertig
The concept of adding a line on your eye seems so simple, but if you’re not a pro at doing eyeliner, it can be time consuming. My liquid eyeliner routine would turn out more like distant cousins than sisters. However, making the switch from liquid eyeliner to eyeshadow was a miracle I didn’t know I needed.
The two Tik Toks depict step by step on how to create a subtle wing using eyeshadow. Tip: Use tape or eyeshadow pads to get a straight line for a wing. The eyeshadow pads I linked have saved me when I’m in a rush, want to do a quick wing, and also prevent fall out from eyeshadow. To create the looks, I personally find an eyeliner brush the easiest with the eyeshadow pads.
Another pro of switching to eye shadow is using any color you want! Besides using a subtle brown or black, any color in an eyeshadow palette would add more fun to your look. Using sparkly eyeshadow makes your eyeliner pop out even more!
With this method, you are able to switch up your eyeliner without having to buy more when they dry up, try new styles/colors at no extra price, and be able to fix it with ease. Let me know if you try this out!
3/8/2021 0 Comments how to: 3 step feathered browsby alexandra dabageWith the warmer months on the rise, we start to see that no makeup-makeup look trickle back in. A couple years ago we saw the year of the brow, where everyone was using Anastasia dip brow to do their brows. Big brows are still in, but we have now seen a huge transition into big fluffy feathery looking brows. We ditched the heavy brow and opted for a look that enhances our natural brow rather than drawing a new one on. For the first step, you just want to take any clean spooly and keep brushing your eyebrows up. I would repeat this about 4-5 times to make sure your brows get fluffy, and you can work with them better. I also would recommend not to trim your brows or pluck them for a while to grow them out. This helps to give you more brow to work with! Now if you’re like me and already have really full brows, you can skip this step. But if you’re looking for a little more volume, grab your favorite brow pencil and lightly shade in the sparse areas of your brows. You can do as much as you like and whatever works for you! Make sure your filling in your brows in an upward motion to keep the fluff. Below we will have listed some of our favorite brow pencils and where you can purchase them. The last step is to take your favorite brow gel and just keep brushing through your brows. Just make sure to brush upwards and out to the sides when you get to the tail of your brow! This will enhance the feathered brows look. Keep repeating this step until you get it exactly how you want them and you’re all set! Here are some popular brow tools you could use to follow along with the tutorial! If you try this look this spring or summer season- make sure you tag us on instagram!! That’s all for this week, see you guys next week when we talk beauty!
Alex Dabage 3/1/2021 1 Comment skincare with saviBy savi fullwood-calderonThis week I want to talk skincare. Skincare has always been a huge deal to me because I used to have pretty bad skin in high school. Through that experience, I learned how to take care of my skin, and it honestly made such a difference. My routine is super simple, but honestly, it’s the best way to go. I’ve had long and expensive routines before, but I got the same results that I do now. First, I wash my face with a hydrating cleanser. My two favs are the La Roche-Posay Gentle Hydrating Cleanser and Krave Beauty’s Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser. You can get La Roche-Posay at Target or Amazon, and I’ll link the Krave Beauty one down below. Now if it’s daytime, I’ll just use CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion and a lightweight sunscreen and call it a day. Don’t forget your sunscreen, it’s so important!! Anyways, from here I might put some makeup on or just keep a bare face. Before bed, I’ll use Krave Beauty’s Great Barrier Relief serum. This serum is lightweight and creamy. It’s not your typical serum too. This is supposed to restore and repair your skins moisture barrier. I can’t express how important this is. Having a good moisture barrier will lead to less skin issues like irritation, pigmentation, and breakouts. This product is amazing and it’s only $28! I’m obsessed. After this, I will moisturize for the night with Weleda’s Skin Food. I started doing all of this in November, and my skin has never felt better. Let me know if you end up trying any of these products!
2/23/2021 0 Comments bringing back skinimalismby alexandra dabageRecently, one of my favorite ways to do my makeup is by achieving that no makeup makeup look. Bright glowing skin seems to be all the rage right now, which is what coined the term skinimalism on Pinterest. The best part about it is that not only does it look effortless, but it is. You can do your makeup in less than 10 minutes while rocking that youthful glow just in time for spring. The first step to achieving this makeup look is using a super dewy moisturizer as your primer. This sets the base of your makeup off with that natural glow while not overdoing it. One of my favorites for this look is the Pond’s Dry Skin Cream Facial Moisturizer which retails for $4.99. It’s a great steal but it gives you the perfect amount of glow for a minimalistic makeup look. Now after the moisturizer, you want to apply your favorite SPF. This is super important to make sure your skin stays protected throughout the day while still giving off that youthful glow we want. This can be any SPF you want, just make sure it works for your skin! When it gets to the actual makeup, the first thing you wanna start with is concealer. Make sure you opt for a dewy concealer. I know right now it sounds SO repetitive, but it's important to keep reaching for those glowy products because they're the key to achieving this natural look! As for concealer, I recommend a lightweight medium coverage concealer, but full or even light coverage will work as well. The best concealer for this is the Too Faced Born This Way concealer which retails for $30.00. It has the perfect amount of coverage, and it can be buildable for whatever you’re comfortable with. Apply this concealer in between your brows, the tip of your nose, your chin, and underneath your eyes. Make sure to hit the highlights of your face to really brighten those areas. After concealer, grab a loose setting powder and lightly dust over those areas to set the concealer. Any loose setting powder works but my personal favorite is the Coty Airspun translucent powder because it lasts all day and is super lightweight. You can also add a face powder to lightly dust all over your face if you need to even out the tone from the concealer, but this is completely optional! These last couple of steps really draw the look together. Take any blush and bronzer you have and gently brushing them over your face. For bronzer you can tap your forehead and your cheekbones, and then put a little bit of blush on your cheeks. Then take your favorite eyebrow gel, (personally I LOVE the Anastasia clear brow gel) and make sure you brush your eyebrows up. This really ties the look together and the fluffy brows enforce the minimalistic look we’re going for. The last step is to curl your lashes and apply just one coat of your favorite mascara and you’re good to go! Attached below is pictures for all your skinamlism inspiration but remember there is no right or wrong way to do this! You can take this in whatever direction you feel comfortable with. If you try this look make sure to tag us on Instagram, see you guys next week when we talk about beauty!
Alexandra Dabage 2/16/2021 0 Comments the slick back lookby savi fullwood-calderonMy new favorite thing to do to my hair right now is slicking it allllll the way back with some gel and doing an updo from there. My inspo for this was of course, the slick back queen, Bella Hadid. She’s always doing a slick back hairdo and I am here for it. It definitely leaves more of the emphasis on your outfit details and makeup. Ever since trying this look about a month ago, I can’t stop. If I’m going out to eat, shop, or want to look a bit more put together, I’m putting gel in my hair. This also helps with for a “dirty” hair type of day. I’m new to the world of not washing your hair every day, it’s bad for you, I know. When my hair is not looking too hot, instead of washing it, I’ll put gel in it and be able to save my hair from all the damage I was causing it. This has really become a game changer for me because I’ve always wanted to keep my hair happy and healthy, and this trick does it for me. One of my fav gel hairstyles to do is a slicked back little bun. This has been more of my go-to for every day looks. It’s easy, simple, and classic. When I want to add a little bit of funk, I’ll do two high pigtail braids. Another cute one is doing a ponytail with a “bubble braid.” This one is definitely a bit different, but so much fun to wear. Add a claw clip, different colored ponytails, or anything that you think will add a bit of your personality to make these hairstyles more unique to you. All these looks can be achieved with just a bit of gel, a good styling brush, and ponytails. I’ll leave a link to the best hair gel I’ve used down below if you would like to try any of these hairstyles out. Let me know if you’re into any of these looks down below. See you next week!
