Finals may be stress-inducing, but there are many different ways to wind down and relax while you’re studying hard. Here are some things to be sure to stock up on, as well as some other tips to help you crush your exams. Snacks are an essential when it comes to studying. Instead of relying solely on caffeine, make sure you stock up on easy to make, nutritious foods to give you a boost of energy. Definitely add a trip to Trader Joe’s to your finals week preparation to-do list. From apples and peanut butter to Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, you need healthy snacks as well as some sweet treats to keep you motivated throughout the week. Calming and energizing scents can also enhance your study experience. Grab your favorite candle and take a second to close your eyes and immerse yourself in the wonderful smells. If you have an essential oil diffuser add some lavender essential oil for a calming effect, or for a more energizing smell, try peppermint or eucalyptus essential oil. Engaging your sense of smell can not only help you focus, but also help you relax and wind down. Schedule some time for you during finals week. No matter how much studying you have to do, make sure to block out some me-time on your schedule. Whether it’s working out or watching your favorite tv show, it is so important that you give yourself a break and allow your brain to rest. Turn off all distractions when you’re studying. When you’re studying, you want to ensure you’re getting the most out of your time. In order to focus in and ace your exams, set your phone away from your desk, turn off the tv, and settle in. Set a timer and study hard, then take a break before you dive back in and repeat. The most important thing you can do is make sure you’re getting enough sleep during this finals week. Good sleep along with these tips and tricks are sure to help you finish out the semester strong. Good luck with exams and thanks for reading!
