2020 has been one rollercoaster of a year for all of us. If there is one word I could use to describe this year, it's draining - and most people I’ve spoken to feel the same. Going through a global pandemic while simultaneously dealing with online school has left a lot of us feeling exhausted. Once this semester is over I know the first thing we’re all going to do is sleep, but I thought I’d share a few tips on how to stay energized while most of us will be sitting at home this holiday season!
1. Develop a routine
I know this sounds like a given, but seriously! Developing a routine can truly help keep you focused on what you want to accomplish that day. One of the easiest ways to do this is through a planner. Keep one around and give yourself small goals for your day, and make sure you keep up with your checklist. Some examples could be setting up a time to wake up and go to bed every day making time to exercise, and planning out your meals. Doing this will help you get moving throughout your day.
Working out is not for everyone but starting small has a big impact. Its all about finding what you enjoy the most. If you’re like me and planning on staying at home most of winter break, take this time while you’re sitting around to find out what workouts you gravitate towards. You can try running, walking, and biking outdoors as the weather cools down, or do yoga and strength training workouts in your room! Making time to exercise during the holidays is great for your mind and your body. Not only does it give you more energy throughout the day, but it improves your mood by pumping your endorphins.
What other things do you guys do to keep yourself busy while at home?
