“Red lights, stop signs..” it’s everywhere: Olivia Rodrigo’s breakout song is all over the internet. From TikTok to Instagram, you can’t escape the catchy tune and the gossip that goes along with it.
A love triangle and a heartbreak song brought Rodrigo to the top of the Billboard 100 for the past two weeks. The Disney star, from “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” is all over social media and the news. This autobiographical song about Rodrigo tells the story of her getting her driver’s license and not being able to share it with the person she planned on sharing it with, but instead she’s driving through the suburbs crying.
So what’s the gossip behind the song? Rumored to be about her co-star Joshua Bassett, Rodrigo sings about how they were planning to wait to be a couple for when Rodrigo got older since Bassett is a few years older than her. Yet this did not go according to plan. Bassett started dating older Disney star, Sabrina Carpenter instead. Carpenter is rumored to be “that blonde girl'' that Rodrigo sings about. But Rodrigo took her heartbreak and turned it into success. At just 17 years old her song shot to the top of the charts in days.
Spotify executive, Jeremy Erlich, explained to the NY Times that “a ton of X-factor that made this the perfect storm.” The amazing melody and lyrics, along with the gossip caused Olivia Rodrigo to launch her solo career in just a matter of days.
Everyone loves a heartbreak song, whether or not they can relate, so go out there and listen to this perfect storm of a song.

1. Lady Gaga
The pop star stunned everyone with her incredible voice and an equally incredible red silk faille skirt and navy jacket by the house of Elsa Schiaparelli. The jacket was adorned with a gold dove brooch that symbolizes peace. Her hair was styled in a crown of braids and windswept tendrils.
2. Michelle Obama
Mrs. Obama looked drop-dead gorgeous in a plum monochrome look by Black American fashion designer Sergio Hudson. The outfit consisted of cozy plum separates, topped with a matching floor-length coat and a gold statement belt.
3. Amanda Gorman
Amanda Gorman, a talented young poet, performed her moving composition titled “The Hill We Climb” and looked absolutely radiant while doing so. Gorman donned beautiful jewelry, a red satin headband, and a canary yellow Prada jacket. The entire beautiful ensemble was gifted by Oprah Winfrey. Oprah similarly gifted Maya Angelou’s outfit for Bill Clinton’s inauguration. As such, Gorman wore a bird cage ring as a nod to Angelou’s I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings.
4. Ella Emhoff
Kamala Harris’s stepdaughter, looked dazzling and scholarly in a crystal-embellished Miu Miu long coat and a wide collar Batsheva dress. The Parsons student did not shy away from showing her elite style for the event.
5. Bernie Sanders
The senator’s inauguration appearance went viral and for good reason - He paired a modest winter jacket with mittens hand-knitted by Vermont school teacher Jen Ellis. Ellis reportedly gifted Bernie the mittens while on the campaign trail. The mittens are made from repurposed wool sweaters and recycled water bottles, sustainable and cozy!

On January 8th, 2021, Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, Kendall, and Kylie posted on Instagram that it was their last day of filming KUWTK. After 14 iconic years, 2021 will be the last year we get to keep up with the Kardashians.
Kim documented the final microphone set up while holding back tears. Meanwhile, Kourtney did not document much of the day on social media. Although the last couple of seasons did revolve around Kourtney disliking filming, we would have thought she would’ve been a little sadder to see the show go, when after all, KUWTK built their careers.
Khloe showed fans the super sweet and sentimental gift she got from the film crew. She used to always sit on this rolling chair on interview days, so the crew gave her the exact chair bedazzled as a goodbye gift.
The rest of the fam were showing us their fabulous brunch for their special finale.
Although we’re sad to see KUWTK go, don’t panic because they won’t be gone for long. It was rumored that the show ended on E! because Kris Jenner made a bad business deal, so right after they announced the show was ending with season 20 in September, Kris turned around and made a deal for a show with Hulu.
Unfortunately, the show will have a different name because E! owns the name ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians.’ It’s not yet clear when this show will launch or even if Kourtney will be in the Hulu show, but more details to come!
What do you guys think about them doing a new show on Hulu? Let me know in the comments!
That’s all for this week, see you guys next time!
