deconStructed clothing

spring/summer 2021 fashion trends

by alexandra dabage

We’re halfway through February, which means the spring trends are making their way towards us super soon. Covid may have canceled spring break this year, but the fashion trends are coming full force. One of the hottest trends to look out for this Spring/Summer season is deconstructed clothing.
If you follow trends closely this might come as no surprise, as we saw a little taste of this in the fall of 2020 with patchwork jeans blowing up on social media. We also saw these asymmetrical type patterns blow up with nail art this past winter.
Recently, Kim K was spotted in this deconstructed type of top on her island vacation. The super cute crop top is being held together by what looks like paper clips and creates an intricate zigzag pattern down the middle.

Similar styles have also been spotted on Instagram recently. This blue crop top has some contrast stitching included and is open in the middle, being connected with super thin tight strings. The blue is great for the spring as well.

This colorful deconstructed top is another great option, and one to look out for this spring. The pastels really bring out the spring colors we love while still being super fun and flirty for the summer!

If you like to hop on trends before everyone else does, definitely look out for these types of tops. I’d recommend you grab them now before March even starts to get ahead of the game! Right now they are quite difficult to find but after doing some research, you can find Kim’s exact top at Gabes Sports Club. Other stores that sell these types of tops are Paloma Wool, LF, Shein, and Depop for some secondhand or unique pieces.
If you end up buying anything similar to these tops, tag us in your instagram photos so we can see! That’s all for this week- see you guys next time!
