There is something about that first warm day of the year, signaling summer is practically in arms reach. This usually means that spring is here and the urge to change my entire wardrobe, style, and embrace the Florida heat has officially arrived - and just on time! With just one week until spring break, I have been scrolling endlessly through my carefully curated Pinterest feed and determining what trends have made my best of spring 2022 list. After much consideration, the list is as follows (in no particular order) …
1. Crochet everything
2. Colorful clothes
3. Long dresses/skirts
4. Beaded Jewelry
Crocheted clothes, bags, bathing suits, etc. seem to be all the rage as of late. Personally, I couldn’t help but buy into this trend. I now am the proud owner of a white crocheted bag with red strawberries stitched in; perfect for the beach or the farmers market, may I add. It has already been the perfect accessory to my everyday wardrobe and was such a fun piece to add to my bag collection.
As if I didn’t already love pops of color, wearing vibrant hues have been a fan favorite according to my go-to fashion icons. Amber Fillerup, founder of Dae Hair, is seen wearing bright pinks, reds, greens, and other bold colors all over her fabulous Instagram. Something I do to incorporate more color into a neutral outfit is adding a shoe that pops. One of my preferred choices is styling a colored converse, such as pink platforms: my ride-or-die shoe!
Although long shirts and dresses have always lived rent free in my closet, they appear to be making a reappearance with the warmer weather. The perfect combination to me is a puff sleeve long dress, styled with a dad sneaker. You truly cannot go wrong with this outfit and I will most definitely be spotted in this exact get up.
Long skirts are an incredibly easy and versatile piece to style because they are key to looking stylish in the heat. A midi to maxi length skirt paired with an oversized tee is breathable, without sacrificing your outfit.
In 2022, I am fully convinced that beaded jewelry makes a comeback every single year with the return of spring and summer… and I am perfectly okay with this. Beaded necklaces and bracelets have so much potential since they are practically entirely customizable. They also leave an opportunity to wear more color and design your favorite colorways.
These four trends are just a few of the many fashion fads that are in right now; however, I am confident that these few will stick around. Regardless of the fact that they are a trend, I believe that they are each timeless and will continue to come back in style every year, time and time again. So, don’t be too afraid to invest in one or two of these ideas that catch your eye. You might get a lot more use out of it than you may think, and you’ll look good while doing it!
