Staying warm and Staying sustainable

How you can put your most stylish foot forward while helping the earth

By Quinn Wilson

This winter season staying sustainable, cozy, and warm doesn’t mean sacrificing style.  The cold is not for everyone, myself included.  Coats, sweaters, and jackets are there to keep us all warm and cozy.  If you’re like me then you’re always scrolling through Pinterest or Instagram ogling the newest fuzzy sweaters and coats of the season.  Yet there’s something that stops you from filling your online shopping carts.  I think about how many times I’ll wear that sweater or how good the quality is.  My hope is that it won’t end up in a landfill by the end of the year.  So how can I prevent that from happening?  I can find more sustainable, ethical alternatives, which may seem like a headache. But here are some of the top winter outerwear trends of the season, with a sustainable twist.

What could be more cozy than a faux fur coat that resembles a teddy bear? This ultra-comfy coat is made with ethical wool, harming no animals in the process.  A teddy bear coat that leaves animals happy--my favorite combination.
