SUSTAINABLE JEWELRY

BY QUINN WILSON

Jewelry can add a little sparkle or shine to any outfit.  Whether you prefer a minimalist look with a dainty gold chain, or a maximalist style with bold colorful beads, you can’t go wrong with jewelry.  And what’s even better than adding some sparkle...adding ethical and sustainable sparkle.  Sustainable jewelry can be hard to find, but not to worry, I’ve got you covered.  Here are some of my favorite conscious jewelry picks:
Ana Luisa focuses on maintaining transparent business practices while creating beautiful, classic styles of jewelry that are made of recycled materials.

Mejuri, a brand dedicated to empowering women, uses a combination of fairly mined and recycled materials.

Akola has jewelry pieces that are all handmade by women artisans in Uganda using sustainable, local materials.

Jewelry has always been known for making a statement.  And with sustainably and ethically made jewelry, you can stand up for the environment and workers’ rights while putting your most stylish foot forward! I hope this inspires you to make conscious decisions as a consumer, see you next week!
